Some handy tips to make your photoshop life easier.
The best thing about tips is that they are cool, easy to follow and practical. If you have this habit of playing around in photoshop you must already have discovered quite a few cool techniques (which by sharing become 'tips') that will make the job to be done easier.
Ready then?
1. Usually our photoshop courtyard is littered with all the little palettes, some of which we often use and most of which we don't really care about, but the fact is that you have them scattered all over the place. Suppose you are retouching a big photo or making a wallpaper in a very high resolution and in the process you have to move the pellets around to make room for easy navigation in the work area, it sure is annoying since you don't want to close 'em all down one by one and then reopen when needed after a while.
No problem, there is a work around, simply press the 'tab' key on your keyboard (just above the 'caps lock' key) this will make all the pellets and toolbars disappear, if you want only secondary pallets i.e. layers, channels, styles go away then press and hold shift and tab keys together, now you still have got property bar and tools palette.
to make the hidden palettes appear use the same key or combination of keys again.
2. Did it ever happen to you that you needed to determine the exact center of the canvas/document and you were left wonering how and using which tool can you do it, infact there is no such tool or command (or at least I dont know of any ;-) ) , hey its not that I am telling you to give up, let me explain.. there are a few ways to do it pretty conveniently, and here is the one I like most.
Open a test document (make a new one), and press 'alt+del' keys on your keyboard right off, this will fill the document with selected foreground color ( I am talking about a transperent document, if your document has a background layer then just make a new layer and fill it up using the above method) now make sure that the 'move tool' is selected, press 'v' key to select

notice the property bar above ? click the 'show bounding box' to select it if not already selected, a bounding box with resize handels must appear in your document, if not then make sure 'view>show extras' is selected.
next select 'view>Rulers' and drag a vertical and a horizontal guide to the approximate center, the guides will snap to the little box in the middle. (turn snap on from 'view>snap' and make sure 'view>snap to>guides' is enabled as well)
and yeah thats all, you have determined the exact center of your document
hide the bounding box if you want.
Thats all for now. Leave a comment below if you have any questions
